He completed his early education from a government school, and after passing class 12, he received a scholarship and graduated from the Tata Institute. Rinku Singh appeared for the UPSC CSE exams under the disabled quota and secured 683rd rank in 2021 in his 16th attempt.

An IAS Officer in Uttar Pradesh, Rinku Singh Rahi, was transferred just 36 hours after his posting, where he took charge as sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in Shahjahanpur's Powayan.

His crime? For cancelling two unpublicised land auctions. He was forced to hold his ears and do sit-ups, after which he was transferred by the government.

The land auctions were scheduled without any public announcement. That prevented a fair bidding. Rahi felt that the auction process should have been more transparent, and hence, he cancelled the auctions. And then, he was transferred because he didn't allow the auctions to be held in an unfair manner.

This is the same Rinku Singh Rahi who took 7 bullets on his body when he exposed a scholarship scam worth 100 crore rupees in Muzaffarpur back in 2009. That led to an attack on him by local gangsters, who shot him seven times, leaving him with a disfigured face, a damaged jaw and one eye blinded.

An IAS officer in Chhattisgarh FIXED a maternal health CRISIS that the government couldn't solve with a recipe older than modern medicine.

She did it with a ladoo!
Yes, you read that right 🤯

Okay so here’s what happened:
Koriya district had one of the worst maternal health records in the state:

→ High-risk pregnancies → Underweight babies → Mothers going into labour severely anaemic.

Simply because pregnant women weren't getting enough nutritious food.

So District Collector Chandan Tripathi did something no consultant would pitch.

She turned a grandmother’s ragi modak into a structured maternal health system.

Here’s what they did differently:

→ Created iron-rich ragi modak ladoos (dietician approved)
→ Gave 2 ladoos daily to every pregnant woman
→ Added iron supplementation from the 5th month
→ Paired each woman with a “Poshan Sangwari” to ensure she actually consumed them

They called it the Koriya Modak Ladoo programme.

The most brilliant part about this is that they didn't hire outsiders to make the ladoos.

The same women it was meant to help now make the ladoos, earning ₹10,000–12,000 per month.

And look at the results now:

✅ 57% reduction in low birth weight cases.
✅ 362/398 underweight mothers gained healthy weight
✅ 3,00,000+ ladoos distributed so far.

And all of this was possible not because of a ₹100 crore government tender but because of trust in community knowledge and the will to execute it properly.

Sometimes the most powerful solutions aren’t expensive.

Shocking incident from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh.
A wedding procession was underway. The groom had mounted the horse, guests were dancing, and celebrations were in full swing ,when suddenly, an electricity department employee arrived and disconnected the power supply to the groom’s house.
The unexpected action left the groom embarrassed in front of relatives and guests. Local residents have called the move insensitive and irresponsible, especially during a sacred and socially significant occasion like a wedding.
According to the groom, while the wedding procession was about to leave, electricity officials came without any prior notice and cut the connection.
What makes the situation more concerning is that the family had taken the electricity connection two months ago and has been paying the bills regularly. There were no outstanding dues. Despite this, the lineman disconnected the power.
Such actions raise serious questions about accountability and professionalism. A celebration turned into humiliation , all without justification.
