Planning Today for Bihar’s Urban Future

Shri Nitish Mishra, Hon’ble Minister, Urban Development & Housing Department, Government of Bihar, inaugurated a two-day workshop on “Sustainable Planning for Towns in Bihar: Understanding the Process & Addressing the Challenges” in the presence of Shri Sanjay Kulshrestha, CMD HUDCO, Shri Vinay Kumar, Principal Secretary and Shri Manoj Kumar, Additional Secretary UD & HD, Govt. of Bihar, Shri N Saravana Kumar, Vice-Chairman, Delhi Development Authority, senior officials from the State and HUDCO.

As Bihar charts its next phase of urban growth, HUDCO-HSMI convened experts, urban planners, academicians and policymakers in Patna for deliberations on strengthening planning capacities, resilient infrastructure, GIS-based tools, and future-ready urban development that is sustainable and inclusive.

The workshop in Patna, organised under the CITIIS 2.0 program, is part of HUDCO's continued efforts through its Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI) and UiWIN, to strengthen institutional capacities and support States in creating sustainable, well-planned and investment-ready urban centres.
