BREAKING: Decorated Iraq War veteran sues after Trump goons brutally tackled and handcuffed her on her OWN FRONT PORCH!
A decorated U.S. Army veteran who earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart in Iraq is suing the Idaho National Guard and the Defense Department after Idaho-based Guard troops allegedly detained her without a warrant, tackled her on the front porch of her Washington, D.C., home and left her with injuries that required surgery.
Anna King says she was sitting outside her apartment on May 8 beneath signs criticizing Donald Trump's deployment of troops to the nation's capital when three National Guardsmen walked through her front gate and told her she was being detained.
"Get away from me right now. You have absolutely no authority to detain me," King can be heard telling the troops in a video of the confrontation.
When she tried to return to her apartment, the troops blocked her path. Video shows the confrontation escalating before two Guardsmen wrestled her to the ground, pinned her to the concrete and restrained her with plastic handcuffs while waiting for D.C. police to arrive.
According to a claim filed Wednesday by the ACLU of D.C., King remained handcuffed on the ground for about 17 minutes. The restraints were so tight that officers later struggled to remove them, and King ultimately suffered ligament damage requiring surgery, the complaint says.
More than two months later, she says she still wears a cast, has limited feeling in her thumb and struggles with everyday tasks.
King, who has been treated for combat-related PTSD since returning from Iraq, also says the encounter revived severe trauma.
"As a trained combat veteran, I never imagined that armed National Guard members would attack, injure and traumatize me at my home," she said. "We are not at war with Americans, and my porch is not a war zone."
The National Guard says troops detained King because they believed she had thrown an unknown liquid at guardsmen two days earlier.
King had not been charged in connection with that allegation when she was detained and has never been charged over it. She has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges alleging she assaulted two Guardsmen during the confrontation.
King is seeking $3 million in damages, arguing that troops violated her constitutional rights and used excessive force.
The ACLU says King's claim is one of dozens alleging abuses by federal officers around the country, which raises the issue of whether military personnel performing roles traditionally handled by civilian law enforcement is effective or appropriate. We don’t think so.
King says she still struggles to use her hand, still lives with renewed PTSD, and still remembers the feeling of soldiers holding her face down outside her own patio.
For a woman who once risked her life wearing the uniform, she says the hardest encounter with armed troops happened after she came home.
This is EXTREMELY BIG by IRAN 🔥🔥
🇺🇸Trump at 9:00 AM: "We’re sanctioning China for helping Iran without asking us. We run the world."
🇮🇷Iran at 9:30 AM: "We declare 🇨🇳 China as the leader of the new world order. The US doesn’t deserve it. It breaks international law." 🔥🔥
This is MASTERSTROKE by Iran👏
🚨 Seth Moulton just DESTROYED Pete Hegseth over firing America’s most experienced generals.
“This isn’t leadership… it’s an unserious circus. Between his ‘No Quarter’ orders… firing our most experienced generals…
Hegseth has proven he is fundamentally unfit for this position.”
Brutal.
Donald Trump is telling America that because HE started a war to distract from Epstein, and because HE can't negotiate a peace deal, and because HE doesn't know how to end the war, Americans will lose Medicare and Medicaid, but it's not HIS fault!
This is huge: Republican Senator John Curtis just killed Donald Trump's SAVE America Act by coming out against killing the filibuster. Trump must be losing his mind right now as he loses battle after battle with members of his own party.
Instead of asking why Joe Biden gave Fauci a pardon because he knew Trump's corrupt DOJ would target him. Ask why Trump is selling pardons to criminals who scammed people and the victims will never get compensation.
NOW: US Senate unanimously passes resolution demanding Ghislaine Maxwell receives no presidential pardon or clemency of any kind, "for her crimes tied to Jeffrey Epstein and the abuse of minors" — pushed by Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV)
🇮🇪 Catherine Connolly, who described Israel as a “terrorist state” and accused it of committing genocide in Gaza, has been elected President of Ireland by a landslide.
🚨TRUMP MELTDOWN: Sen. Adam Schiff says Trump is “GOING OUT OF HIS MIND” over John Cornyn blocking Todd Blanche:
“He’s being forced to choose…between narrowing this tax giveaway or getting Todd Blanche as his attorney general.”
The Republican Party is imploding in real time.
The single most important discovery to come out of the Senate Hearing with Dr. Fauci is the undeniable fact that Trump is a convicted felon, sexual predator, and credibly accused pedophile.
Ted Cruz went on Fox News to warn America about corrupt rulers who get rich by robbing the people they govern, and somehow made it through the entire speech without noticing he was describing the billionaire sitting in the Oval Office.
The setup was an attack on Zohran Mamdani, New York's new mayor, whom Cruz promoted from socialist to Marxist to "full-on communist" in the space of one breath.
Then came the thesis. Castro was a billionaire. Putin is a billionaire. The men who run these regimes, Cruz explained, always end up rich, because they steal and rob from the people they govern.
Here is the part Cruz forgot to check. Donald Trump's personal fortune has climbed by more than two billion dollars since he moved back into the White House last year, roughly doubling from around two billion to over five in a single year.
More than a billion of that came from crypto. Not from building anything real. From a memecoin with his name stamped on it.
Trump collects a fee every time that coin changes hands. Up or down, boom or crash, he gets paid on the transaction itself. The price is the buyer's problem, never his.
And the buyers came. Around 764,000 crypto wallets took losses on $TRUMP while the man himself banked the fees, according to reporting in the New York Times. Ordinary people who trusted the name handed their savings to a president quietly skimming off the top of every trade.
This is not a line from the left. The Wall Street Journal editorial board, no one's idea of a communist cell, accused Trump and his family of cashing in on the presidency in a way that shames the office.
So when Cruz stood on Hannity's set and carefully defined a leader who uses power to enrich himself while the people beneath him grow poorer, he was not describing Mamdani, whose great crime was proposing a tax on second homes and cheaper groceries.
He was describing the man he has spent a decade defending. The same man who branded him "Lyin' Ted" and insulted his wife to his face.
A staffer for Gavin Newsom watched the clip and left a line Cruz will never shake loose: not self aware enough to realize what he just admitted.
Cruz wrote the indictment himself, read it into the camera, and handed it to the wrong defendant.
When you look at what this orange moron has done to the US, the debt he has accumulated for the country, can you imagine how much more debt Canada would have if Trump's lapdog #1 ass-kisser Poilievre had been elected Prime Minister?
