Remembering David Hockney, he was kind and always had a sparkle in his eye. He never stopped experimenting and is one of the finest painters of our generation.
Delighted to celebrate 20 years of @tilda_tcd at @TCDBusiness School this week.
Over two decades, TILDA has generated world-leading evidence on ageing, shaping policy, advancing understanding of health and wellbeing in later life, & supporting better outcomes for older adults in Ireland and beyond.
Thank you to our participants, researchers, funders, and collaborators who have made this journey possible. Looking forward to the next chapter of TILDA and the continued impact of longitudinal ageing research.

Reading is not just for learning. Writing is not just for expressing thoughts. Both may help protect the way the mind stays connected with age.
A study found that regular reading and writing habits helped compensate for aging effects in speech connectedness, especially in older adults.

Iranian-French filmmaker and author Marjane Satrapi, whose graphic novel series and film "Persepolis" introduced the Western world to the precarity of everyday life in the wake of the Islamic Revolution, has died at 56. Her death was announced by French president Emmanuel Macron.

Social connection means real relationships, with people who make you laugh, let you be
yourself, and show up when it counts. The ones who lift you during tough times and make the good ones even better. Not the hundreds of connections on LinkedIn or the contact list in your phone
We cannot build the health systems of tomorrow on the exhaustion of the workforce of today.
At the 12th High-level Meeting of the Small Countries Initiative in Riga 🇱🇻, participants held rich and practical discussions on how to build, retain and support the health workforce small countries need for the future.
One message came through clearly: workforce optimization is not about asking doctors, nurses and health workers to do more with less. It is about redesigning care with them - reducing unnecessary burdens, strengthening teams, using data for better planning, and creating conditions that help people stay in the profession.
The discussions on ageing, rural access, mental health and well-being showed why small countries can lead with practical, agile solutions that benefit the whole WHO European Region.
My sincere thanks to Latvia and Health Minister Hosams Abu Meri for hosting this important space for meaningful exchange, shared learning and stronger cooperation.
