TOMORROW: What is being done about the fraud epidemic leeching America's coffers dry?
@USLaborIG and his team are on the case, and he joins the show this week to explain the wide net they have cast to catch fraudsters, how they are working with other agencies to maximum effect, and the part they play with the @WHFraudTF.
TUNE IN MONDAY!
@USLaborIG@POTUS@VP@WHFraudTF@DOLOIG University of California workers were forced to train their H-1B replacements. They complained, but @USDOL made it lawful to replace Americans
Lesson: H1B abuse is due to bad regulations & poor management
Go after FRAUD, but don't claim you're fixing H-1B abuse
Jobs Now is back in Newsweek today to explain that the $3.2M DOJ settlement with OpenAI for discrimination against American job applicants shows- the Department of Labor urgently needs to FIX THE PERM RULES!
Tell @Sonderling47 to ban hidden jobs today!
@RonDeSantis@USDOJ spent more $ to investigate
One-off investigations are useless
The problem lies upstream with @USDOL
Should AUDIT all PERM applicants
Discrimination is widespread & endemic
'21 & '23 Apple & Facebook settlements solved nothing
PERM system needs a complete overhaul
@JobsNowPR The fine and new recruiting protocols that OpenAI agreed to don't fix a system that needs to be overhauled upstream
@USDOL should prevent fraud AND abuse by overhauling its oversight and regulation of the PERM system
@USLaborIG@AAGDhillon@DOLOIG@VP@WHFraudTF@Sonderling47 Hiding job openings from American workers is the _norm_
One-off settlements don't change systemic behavior. @USDOJ Settlements with Apple ('23) and Facebook ('21) begat OpenAI's in 2026.
@USDOL MUST completely overhaul PERM compliance and auditing to catch all fraud & abuse
@AAGDhillon@CivilRights Great ... BUT where is @USDOL oversight?
It allowed OpenAI to brazenly discriminate, and Apple and Facebook/Meta in earlier years.
PERM Compliance and accountability are the responsibility @Sonderling47
Optional Practical Training (OPT) guestworker program has no basis in law or common sense
Giveaway to the guestworker industrial complex (corps, universities, and immigration lawyers)
At huge cost to Americans who compete v foreign workers w few rights
Rationale is a sham
NEW from me: The Trump administration is weighing attaching a $100,000 fee to optional practical training, the program that allows international students to work on their student visas for a time after graduation. Gift link: https://t.co/TwjRJUne1R
Lousy job market for American tech workers: mass layoffs & record unemployment rates for recent grads.
Our government response is to flood the job market with H-1B and OPT guest workers

I’m Dr. Norman Matloff’s daughter, and it is with great sadness that I share that my father passed away earlier in June, surrounded by his family.
He faced his cancer diagnosis with unflagging optimism and never stopped pursuing his passions of writing, mentoring students, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. He has left behind a legacy: generations of UC Davis graduates in his 40+ years teaching, open source software and tutorials available to anybody, a body of technical work in research publications, software packages, and books.
The lively discourse that he had with all of you on this platform gave him great pleasure, and he felt genuine connections with many of you here.
He will be so very missed. May his memory be a perpetual blessing.
The H-1B system has betrayed American workers and failed the workers it imports.
And even those foreign workers are helpless to improve it. Dr. Ron Hira explains:
His @nytimes oped falsely claims "H-1B visas have fallen by an estimated 40 percent and F-1 visas by 29 percent"
FALSE! No drop in H1Bs
Misstates source for info "Despite policy changes, we do not expect to see the same drop in H-1B visas that we saw in F-1"
Elite misinformation
Honored to be able to present my views on how the Trump administration is pursuing policies that will harm the economy in the long run.
