1️⃣ Microsoft @MicrosoftAI just unveiled MAI-DxO, a diagnostic AI that solved 85.5% of the most complex NEJM case reports.
In contrast, experienced physicians solved only ~20% of the same cases.
2️⃣ MAI-DxO is not a single model — it orchestrates multiple LLMs (GPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.) into a virtual diagnostic panel:
• Asks follow-up questions
• Selects tests step by step
• Audits its own reasoning & cost-effectiveness
3️⃣ It doesn’t just outperform doctors —
It reaches the right diagnosis with fewer tests and lower cost.
That’s a major breakthrough for reducing over-testing and diagnostic delays. #AIinMedicine
4️⃣ Importantly: this is research only.
MAI-DxO isn’t clinically approved yet.
But it redefines what’s possible in real-world diagnostic reasoning.

Getting your real-time heart rhythm monitored for 10 days now requires an ECG technician to review and notify your doctor of a critical arrhythmia. A new study showed A.I. did better than technicians (98.6% vs 80.3%) for identifying these abnormalities

About 10% of people who develop severe Covid have autoantibodies to Type 1 interferon, which doesn't get diagnosed. Now there's a simple assay.
It's also relevant for other life-threatening viral illnesses, and these Abs exist in ~100 million people worldwide.

Neuroscientists, psychologists, and evolutionists agree the human brain comes pre-programmed with the need for and enjoyment of social cooperation. Our brains want it and develop better when we have it. The meaningful relationships we get from social cooperation make us happier, healthier, and more productive; social cooperation is also integral to effective work. It is one of the defining characteristics of being human.
