@SteveHarney Boomers bought what they could afford and made it work. Minimum standard was a place to live with heat! Today: 3rd bedroom, Central Air, Garage, Basement, Dining room, and 2nd bath are the new “acceptable” minimum standards. Those things all come at a much higher price.

@Dennis_Rodkin Nationally there are usually 5-6 million closed sales and 2023 it was somewhere in the 4.3 million range, not sure the final numbers are in but I could see it across the offices I am a part of!

@Dennis_Rodkin @WBEZreset When I was a kid in the 1960’s my dad was a prudential agent. When we went downtown, we could show his business card to the guard and they would let us go up to the observation deck. In those days it was one of the taller Chicago buildings.

@SteveHarney Because they don’t write the check and it comes out of the seller proceeds at closing buyers rarely connect to the impact. Trying to explain it to the public will be like if when buying a car they added to the paperwork, $1,200 for car salesman commission.

@SteveHarney I’m a college drop out.. have been an entrepreneur and agent 38+ years…I’ve probably spent over $300,000 on my own non-College education over the years! College is great , I’ve paid for 4-5 degrees for family members, never did get one for me!
