@keb8880@IzzakOlejnik@MatScouts1 This is an incorrect take. That statement is not grounded in how it has been called this year in college wrestling.
Reaction time is allowed unless control is clearly established beyond reaction time and that is at each ref’s discretion
Control was not clearly established here
@IzzakOlejnik@MatScouts1 His arm is around Duke’s leg/hip. If that was cleared or he would have hooked the leg it would have been 3.
Obviously ref screwed it up by calling a takedown to soon and not letting Duke establish full control
@MatScouts1 Definitely was not a takedown at that point, but official definitely stopped that one to early would have most likely been a takedown for Duke. Bad officiating for sure
@Rhino184@FantasyD1Wrestl I think as long as the action happens and there is 3 or so seconds left it will be fine, enough time to allow reaction time, but the inconsistency from ref to ref does make it hard
@WrestlingJunki6 I do not see a takedown there the last lift there was not enough time on the clock for reaction time once he put Rocco down and he tried to roll. For that to be a takedown there would have had to be enough time to allow reaction time
