Digging through my 1990s era comics wasn't just a jaunt down memory lane, it was the start of a quest, to collect the complete Claremont run of X-Men.
(For my purposes, "The Claremont Run" will be defined by mistaketheory's reading order.)
This thread tracks my progress.
@saavikford Heh. Already saw both of those, turns out the Bad Astronomy newsletter is great for this sort of thing ;-)
The moon thing was really neat, fascinating how different the results are when you up the resolution of the sim.
@JohnDorianSmith@sheepycutie I find it helpful to think in terms of alternate goals. My Olivia, Crimson Bride deck is trying to reanimate a bunch of busted creatures. I’m not trying to win, because soon after I do this the table will see the threat and annihilate me, but I did the thing so I “win” anyway.
@RobertSecundus Do the X-Men work better when the stories are mostly filled with mutants, or when the cast has plenty of baseline human characters sprinkled in?
@Stoltzken@dmdavidblog That feels like the initial question, yeah. Are the OneD&D rules changes oriented to making a VTT easier to build? And yeah, I think the answer is “not really”, which seems for the best honestly.
@arthurstacy @RobertSecundus@emilywritesgood Don’t forget the part where the game is effectively over with the winner clearly determined But you still need to play for like another endless hour to get to the end, just like capitalism!
@drewlevin@lsv @a_fish_ionado @sickofit Nostalgia.
Speaking as someone who owns an Unlimited one for no reason other than I never had one back in the day and they're awesome, although I admit I bought it 9 years ago and it was dramatically cheaper then.
