So I finanlly got my medical cannabis script sorted after two weeks of rationing to a point descending stairs was dangerous.
It's nuts how much impact it has on my FND symptoms, especially this new strain.
Wild to me that efficacy can vary so much between strains
It's wild I have almost no scars.
I once learned how hot a lawnmower engine is, I used to skate, I have broken bones, dislocated joints, and generally have been a walking accident.
Somehow, the only scar was the one time I came off a mountain bike without a shirt, and it's tiny
Looking back it's honestly impressive how much I just brute forced knowledge.
I've been looking at anticheats since I was ~8, and malware by 11.
I just tried a lot, I have always tried my hardest. ADHD just masks that fact.
I've never been lazy, just misdirected and scared.
When I was ~7 I wrote a text based rpg in c# using nothing but an out of date 900 page book.
Because I'm an idiot who didn't know better, and too stubborn to quit.
Now I have to quit. I don't have time to fail anymore, there are bills to pay.
when i was 14 i wrote a raytracer in a day just off intuition and wikipedia alone. it's not like i've gotten dumber. i know this sounds ridiculous, but i think it's literally just a confidence thing. i used to believe i was smart. i need my ego back

When I was 14, I saw a problem and came across a neat solution and thought “can’t be that hard.”
Was ridiculously laborious and so it turned out I was the first and only person to ever publish something like that with that level of real-life testing. It is still in use.
I hope one day I can just not be anxious about having to take a medication that has just drastically improved my quality of life.
It fixes all the same shit benzos did, but without the zombie blackout part.
It has genuinely changed my life so much, I'm so glad.
Christ I hate that I have to ration it, but the fact I haven't been able to take it kind of reinforces how much the cannabis helps with my quality of life.
It's got side effects and it's not perfect, but it also treats majority of my symptoms: FND, ADHD, Autism, OCD & Insomnia
I don't quite get the stigma, like:
a) who cares
b) it's a pretty vital medication for me
yet some people still make it a huge deal.
I wish it didn't smell tho, holy shit. Got lads giving me shit for it, and I don't even like it.
Christ the bar was low for developers before, I wasn't sure it could go much lower. Yet here we are, limboing into a societal collapse because we now need new data centres and power plants just to calculate your age from your birthdate with a 50% accuracy
Bad code no longer takes time to write, and now no one has time to review it.
I've seen some """Enterprise""" grade shit before, but now there's 300 file single commits filled with code that you can smell from orbit.
The cost of running and maintaining all this will catch up
So, reminder: the quality of code output by these systems is *very low* and the AIs themselves don't understand the output.
This is obvious to anyone who knows how to program.
There are still use cases, for example, to output a large volume of low-quality code that is not intended to be used for serious purposes and is not expected to have a long lifetime.
Anyone extoling the virtues of AI code generation, who actually knows how to program, will do so with the context of the above paragraph in mind.
Anyone running around saying "the AI just generates all this code and it's great!!" either:
(a) Does not understand code and should not be trusted with making decisions about code;
(b) If representing themselves as people who understand code, are obvious frauds, or else have so much Dunning-Kruger they don't know how bad they are.
This may improve in the future. I would love it if I could have an AI help me write complex programs more quickly. But it's just not the state of things today, and anyone claiming it is, is either lying or being fooled.

Just before the horde of vibe coders respond: fuck off
I don't care, don't waste your time responding. You are looking to convince yourself because you lack the faculties to comprehend you could be wrong about a topic you know nothing about
