@txgermanbre IMO it is only due to Habeck that in Germany an alternative to the suffocating debt-break was thinkable. I will probably vote green for the foreseeable future because of that.
Bad cgi is "self-selected". It's a challenge to recognize how much good cgi is out there as a ratio of good to bad.
Why? Because we don't know we're seeing it.
I do love 1977 models and I do think they look great and I would marry one. But I love even the worse "modelly model" of that era the same.
For me, personally, it's the wild impossible free form camera in cgi that throws me out of it. These models had serious camera restrictions because they were real cameras.
@TopherStoll As someone who does vfx, this is not true in almost every case. But the times where you can recognize cgi as cgi it is because it's done poorly. In film today it is not uncommon to shoot with practical effects then replace them with cgi later (e.g. alien romulus, stranger things)
