Monthly reminder: It’s okay to buy more books. It’s okay to get more books from the library. It’s okay to buy books you won’t read for years. It’s okay to pile books everywhere. It’s okay to get different editions of the same book. Books are awesome. Do whatever makes you happy.
@ulyssesapp Question: is there any way to customize the way quotation marks show up in a document? I am writing dialogue and the sentence doesn't end with a traditional punctuation and the second quotation mark is backwards. Any way to fix that?
Colorists make or break the art. They are an intrinsic part of the finished product you consume. The same is true of letterers and inkers. Credit is important for the entire team, and especially so now to remind us that this stuff cant just be magicked out of thin air
HOW TO WRITE LOG LINES! @SPMJM reminded me how weak a lot of loglines out there are, and I recently did a talk on them I thought I'd repost as a thread (this is 1/14)-- I said I wasn't going to do this during the strike, but since I got paid--
It finally happened. I read a script last night that tinged of CHAT GPT. I ran it through; indeed, it had been written by AI and submitted by a human gentleman. It has, of course, been disqualified.
Can't fool us! Submissions (real writing only, please) end 6/20.
This is your periodic reminder that no one is forcing you to be a writer. You do it because you have to. You do it because universes pour from your fingertips. You do it because it's the best gig ever. You do it because it's how you process pain, joy, fear, love, and hope. (1/3)
