أكَّد السيد أداما ديانج، وكيل الأمين العام السابق للأمم المتحدة والمستشار الخاص لمجلس حكماء المسلمين، أنَّ الإعلاء من قيم التعارف، وقبول الآخر، والإيمان بالتنوع هو الطريق لصناعة سلام حقيقي.

وقال ديانج، في محاضرة له بعنوان "المنظَّمات الدولية وبناء السلام" ضمن فعاليات اليوم الثالث من منتدى شباب صنَّاع السلام، إنَّ انعقاد هذه النسخة من المنتدى يأتي في وقت يمرُّ فيه العالم بكثيرٍ من الصراعات والأزمات، مشيرًا إلى أن الشباب هم كلمة السر للخروج من هذه الأزمات، فهم مستقبل الإنسانية، ولا بدَّ من تمكينهم ودعمهم لكي يكونوا قادة اليوم وتوظيف طاقاتهم ومبادراتهم الملهمة.

ودعا ديانج شباب صنَّاع السلام إلى الاستفادة من مشاركتهم في هذا المنتدى في بناء علاقات مع سائر صنَّاع السلام حول العالم، مؤكدًا ضرورة تحويل الأقوال إلى أفعال، موضحًا أن من أهم الصِّفات التي ينبغي أن يتحلَّى بها القادة الحبُّ والتواضع.

ولفت وكيل الأمين العام السابق للأمم المتحدة إلى أهمية العدل والمساواة من أجل تحقيق السلام، مؤكِّدًا ضرورة العمل من أجل القضاء على الجوع والفقر وتحقيق العدالة الإنسانية، مشيرًا إلى أن الفقر والجوع هما السبب الرئيس في تعريض الشباب أنفسهم للخطر عن طريق الهجرة غير الشرعية، معتبرًا أن عدم مدِّ يد العون لهم وإنقاذهم من الغرق جريمة في حقِّهم.

وطالب ديانج الشباب المشاركين بضرورة العمل على تعزيز قيم الأخوَّة الإنسانيَّة، مشيرًا إلى أن فضيلة الإمام الأكبر أ. د. أحمد الطيب، شيخ الأزهر رئيس مجلس حكماء المسلمين، وقداسة البابا فرنسيس، بابا الكنيسة الكاثوليكية، قدَّما للعالم من أبوظبي الوثيقة الأهم في التاريخ الإنساني الحديث وهي "وثيقة الأخوَّة الإنسانيَّة" وما تضمنتْه من مبادئ إنسانية سامية.

وانطلقت في مدينة جنيف بسويسرا فعاليات النسخة الثانية من منتدى شباب صنَّاع السلام، الذي ينظمُه مجلس حكماء المسلمين، برئاسة فضيلة الإمام الأكبر أ. د. أحمد الطيب، شيخ الأزهر الشريف، رئيس مجلس حكماء المسلمين، بالشراكة مع مجلس الكنائس العالمي ومؤسسة روز كاسيل، وذلك خلال الفترة من ٦ : ١٤ يوليو الجاري، بمشاركة ٥٠ شابًّا وشابة من مختلف أنحاء العالم.

In a Lecture on the Third Day of the Emerging Peacemakers Forum

Adama Dieng, Former UN Under-Secretary-General: Promoting Values of Understanding, Acceptance, and Embracing Diversity is the Path to Achieving True Peace

Adama Dieng, the former United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser to the Muslim Council of Elders, emphasized that promoting values of understanding, acceptance and embracing diversity is the path to achieving true peace.

Speaking in a lecture titled 'International Organizations and Peacebuilding' during the third day of the Emerging Peacemakers Forum, Dieng noted that this edition of the forum comes at a time when the world is facing numerous conflicts and crises. He pointed out that the youth hold the key to overcoming these challenges as they represent the future of humanity. Therefore, empowering and supporting youth is essential to them becoming today's leaders while also harnessing their inspiring energy and initiatives.

Dieng called on participants at the forum to make use of their participation in order to build relationships with other peacebuilders around the world. He stressed the importance of turning words into actions and highlighted love and humility as crucial qualities that leaders should possess.

The former United Nations Under-Secretary-General emphasized the significance of justice and equality in achieving peace. He underscored the need to work towards eradicating hunger and poverty whilst working to achieving humanitarian justice. He also pointed out that poverty and hunger are the main factors that expose young people to danger through irregular migration, considering the failure to help these people and rescuing them from drowning as a crime against them.
