When I say recruiting should be under a Chief Hiring Officer and not part of HR, it’s not shade towards HR people.

It’s that asking HR to also be great at Talent Acquisition is asking too much.

Summer: internship programming + recruitment planning

Early Fall: events/program marketing

Mid/Late Fall: “on-campus” and final interviews

Winter: pivot to internship recruiting

Having candidates answer the same questions across your 5-person interview team isn’t helpful for anyone.

Decide on the skills each interviewer should cover (2-3 per person) and you’ll get the answers you need.

You’ll also limit bias along the way.
