This day 31 years ago in Beijing, I as a college freshman, was on picket line to protect hunger strikers in #Tiananmen Square. Now Chinese govt is killing humanity with #Covid_19#CCPVirus ! @WSJ video of me on the 30th anniversary of #TiananmenMassacre

My husband, @AHakimIdris a U.S. citizen, was detained and deported from Malaysia simply because Beijing demanded it. This is a chilling example of how China successfully weaponizes third countries to carry out its harassment of Americans. What happened to Hakim should be a wake-up call for the world: China’s audacity to target citizens of sovereign nations has reached an unprecedented level. If we do not address this escalation now, no advocate, researcher, or citizen is safe from Beijing’s reach, regardless of where they are in the world.
My sister, #GulshanAbbas, is already a direct victim of the CCP's transnational repression. Each act of retaliation against my family only strengthens our resolve to fight harder to expose the CCP’s crimes against humanity and the ongoing genocide with even greater determination.

Chinese telecom's are being forced out of the US. They never should have been allowed in.
Chinese hackers were recently caught spying on the FBI and monitoring the agencies own surveillance system. Any access to US networks will be used by the CCP to spy on Americans.
NEW: A Hong Kong independent media outlet has said its journalists have been targeted by harassing text messages and “stalked” by unknown individuals, the latest in a series of intimidations against the city’s press since 2024.

On April 5th, @RFA_UyghurNews reported that the grandmother of Arfiya Eri, a Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs from the Liberal Democratic Party, "had been interrogated by Chinese authorities in Xinjiang. Eri later posted on X that, based on available information, her grandmother was not currently detained, but she would continue to monitor the situation closely." Later reports suggest she may be on house arrest.
Her grandmother routinely travels to Japan for medical treatment. On a recent trip, she reportedly was questioned by authorities. Eri's activities in Japan were reportedly raised during these interrogations.
The CCP attempts to silence foreign dissenters by punishing relatives living on their soil. This is transnational repression.

The Brutal Reality of 2009: The Massacre of Uyghurs in East Turkistan
This footage shows Chinese 🇨🇳 illegal settlers armed with weapons, searching for and hunting down Uyghurs in the streets of Urumqi during the July 2009 unrest. The Uyghurs who were caught by these mobs were brutally lynched in broad daylight. This is a clear depiction of the state-sponsored terrorism against the Uyghur people.
Since the occupation of East Turkistan in 1949, the Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples have been facing a continuous genocide carried out by the Chinese government and government-backed illegal Chinese settlers.
