Gill, babes, last year four of the classes in my dept only had a qualified teacher for three months. A teacher left last week and we canβt replace them. My A Level physics students have no teacher.
Us striking is not the problem. 8 days is not the problem.
Last year, school strikes resulted in 25 million school days being lost cumulatively.
Children should not have to suffer a repeat of this disruption.

@MBDscience No absolutely not. I used to be all for this but there is a two year generation of teachers who got no golden hello & then no bursaries who would have less than five years left roughly, fewer if they work in London. Theyβre at the top of the pay scale so no pay rises. Theyβre the
@adamboxer1 How does just answering questions work for students who are beginning English? Are they answering in their home language? I would be very interested in your (and alls) thoughts on this as EAL provision is my downfall.
I know I say this every year, but with results day on the horizon, please remember that for some kids grade 1-3 is a huge achievement. It represents years of hard work and determination. Itβs not a fail. It is a GCSE qualification that they can and should be celebrated for.

We have been awarded extra funding and are creating a Male Underachieving Pupil Premium English Tuition Set to try to improve our results. Miss Henson, our new Head of English, will be in charge of the MUPPETS from September.
