This fucking lie.
No, you don’t spend anything on us.
The hospital exists independent of college.
AIIMS was created a hospital - not just for MBBS. Institutes like PGI don’t even have MBBS.
You can’t take health budget and divide by number of MBBS students and say we spend that much.
The budget for academics is 10% of entire budget of hospital.
If you spend - it’s 3-5L, not 30L/year.
And most govt colleges now already have 2-3L fees.
There is zero subsidy.

The government spends nearly ₹35 lakh to train one doctor.
It also spends heavily on producing IITians, IAS officers, and other professionals.
So why is it expected that only doctors must “owe” society and not others?

Doctors are often treated as bonded labor:
★Mandatory rural service for 1–2 years
★Lowest pay compared to workload and responsibility
★Poor infrastructure and lack of basic safety
If service to the nation is the goal, then why the inequality?

Key questions that deserve honest answers:
★Why are interns and junior residents paid peanuts despite long hours and high-risk work?
★Why are residents forced into 36-hour continuous shifts?
★Why is there no uniform stipend across states?
★Why no job security, no proper protection, no workplace safety?
This is not about refusing service to society.

Doctors have always served ,even during pandemics, disasters, and crises.
But respect, fair pay, humane working hours, and safety are not privileges ,They are rights.

A strong healthcare system cannot be built by exploiting its backbone.

SUBJECT: Demanding a transparent and independent enquiry into the death of Dr. Jadabendra Sahoo, JR-1, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, AIIMS Patna

Respected sir,
This is to inform you that a 1st year Junior Resident Dr. Jadabendra Sahoo from Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, AIIMS Patna has died under unclear circumstances as declared on 19th July 2025.

Sir, the residents and students of AIIMS Patna are deeply anguished by the institutional response to this loss and have lost their trust in the AIIMS Patna administration. The administration has tried to suppress this incident, threatened the residents into silence and has not attended to and poorly mistreated the deceased's family upon their arrival.

In view of this our demands are listed as follows:-

1. An independent enquiry committee should be formulated consisting of: Senior doctors from AIIMS Patna and other institutes, junior resident representatives from AIIMS Patna, concerned Police officials, family members of the deceased and a mental health expert. The committee must submit its report within 7 days of formulation.
2. The institute should take responsibility for the mistreatment of deceased’s family and report to them with transparency. An official statement as well as an address to the AIIMS Patna community must be made by the respected Executive Director of AIIMS Patna at the earliest
3. The committee must take input from the junior residents regarding their grievances and the changes in the work culture that should be enforced to avoid such future occurrences. This must be followed by release of an official notice by the AIIMS Patna administration to implement the suggested changes.

We hope justice will be served.
