#JanaNayagan A Painful Farewell for Vijay!

Apart from a few elevation blocks and Anirudh’s score in places, nothing works here. H. Vinoth’s execution is very sloppy, and the changes he made, especially the subplots, feel completely outdated. Bobby Deol’s villain track is atrocious and laughable at times. VFX and production values are poor, editing is all over the place, the core emotional moments from the original are inserted without any proper flow, and the climax tests your patience to the max.

Outright Disappointing!

Jana Nayagan Review :

Jana Nayagan is a Cringe Max film. The first half works for fans, while the second half is torture. 🙏

The entire villainy thread, altered from the Telugu version, ruins the essence of the film. The second half is supposed to bank on the “Banao Beti Ko Sher” concept, but it is weighed down by poorly executed villainy.

The VFX in the action episodes is of Bhojpuri-film grade. It is shocking to see such poor work in a Vijay film. “Republic of Swasnia” and “John Himmler” (Bobby Deol) are cringe-worthy. 30 minutes of the Climax is barbarious. Telugu dubbing voice used for Prakash Raj is poor.

The first half has a few fan-appealing moments. In the second half, only the “Jana Nayaka” song and a couple of fan moments work. “Thalapathy Kacheri” is a great song. That’s about all the positives.

Director H. Vinoth has completely screwed up the film.

Initially, when the film was blocked by the Censor Board, we sympathized with the makers. But after watching the film, the decision to block it seems somewhat justified. The film contains multiple elements centered on instigating religious conflict.

Vijay is good with his action and dances but could not rescue this film.

A safe avoid.

Firstly, it feels like watching a decade-old template film because of its treatment. On top of that, it takes the core storyline of #BhagavanthKesari which focuses on girl empowerment, and turns it into a forced political campaign, completely ignoring the soul of the original. Bobby Deol’s track is a big mess in the mix.

This neither adds goodwill to ‘hero’ Vijay nor delivers the action entertainment with gunfire effects that look like they were borrowed from a low-budget video game!!

It’s unfortunate that #Vijay’s final film has ended up this way.
