5 years ago I joined the Museums & Cultural Property team @DCMS. I'm proud of things I've worked on supporting the sector I love - from the cultural recovery fund to creating a new definition of treasure.
I'm sad to say goodbye (it's the best team!), but new challenges await!
Interested in joining our team?
We're offering a six month internship at the UK Delegation to UNESCO
Applications close soon - find out all of the details and apply here 👇

Fantasic visit to another of my local museums @bentley_priory. Beautiful displays and great spaces and activities for little ones (especially those obsessed with aeroplanes like mine!). Looking forward to coming back when it is a bit warmer to enjoy the gardens #museumtoddler
An opportunity to join the fabulous museum policy team @DCMS has just been advertised. A chance to make an impact on collections development, partnerships, use of digital tech & be involved in major projects such as @nat_collection#museumjob

Discovering magnifying glasses for the first time @hrobinsonmuseum last week. A lovely little local museum, with an unexpected amount to interest this curious #museumbaby (or should that now be #museumtoddler?)
Did you see the news? @dcms wants to widen the definition of #treasure so that archaeologically or historically significant objects can be acquired by museums.
Yesterday, the draft Statutory Instrument that would enable this was laid before Parliament: https://t.co/HSiGDEXJX3
It outlines the new definition of treasure.
If agreed, then objects that provide an exceptional insight into an aspect of national or regional history, archaeology or culture will be treasure.
@DCMS will also update the Codes of Practice - more information to come!
We're pleased to announce the launch of AIM Connected Communities a new grant scheme to help widen participation in volunteering & tackle loneliness, funded through @DCMS & @ace_national as part of Gov’s £29m Know Your Neighbourhood Fund. Find out more: https://t.co/S911jkhmJA
Continuing our tour of galleries - #museumbaby and I went to @NationalGallery see how many other babies we could spot. I think this particular painting inspired lunch!
And on a practical note - excellent baby change facilities @nationalgallery . . .unlike the last gallery we visited where the location of the fold down changing mat within the toilets made it unusable 🤦♀️
