DOWNTOWN DEMONSTRATION: Sunday afternoon, hundreds of pro-Israel supporters marched in downtown Seattle for the first time since the Hamas terror attack on October 7. Most of their rallies have happened on the Eastside in places like Kirkland, Bellevue, and Mercer Island. But organizers say it was time to make their presence felt in Westlake Park on this fourth day of Hanukkah.
First AME Pastor Carey Anderson energized the crowd and said he stood with the Jewish people. Democratic State Senator Jesse Salomon condemned the rise of antisemitism at certain American universities. And speakers today also took time to mourn all the victims of this Israel-Hamas war.
Unlike the pro-Palestine protests, organizers coordinated with the city and Seattle Police. There were some hecklers nearby, but the day ended without any major incidents.
