🎓 Professor Adam Przeworski: There Is No Worldwide Crisis of Democracy

🚨 In a scholarly landscape increasingly dominated by narratives of democratic decline, authoritarian resurgence, and populist disruption, Professor Adam Przeworski (@AdamPrzeworski) offers a strikingly counterintuitive perspective. In this in-depth ECPS interview , Professor Przeworski challenges the prevailing consensus: “I do not believe there is a worldwide crisis of democracy.”

Aunque un país no quiebra como una empresa, por último podría usarse el concepto si cae en cesación de pagos de su deuda (default).
En Chile, eso no ha pasado desde 1931.
Bajisimo riesgo país indica que el mercado tampoco lo cree probable.

Alguna vez tuité: “El Mercurio miente, La Tercera mucho más”.

No era una frase al voleo, sino el título de un paper académico publicado en el Bulletin of Latin American Research (Osorio y Navia, 2015), que demuestra sesgo sistemático en titulares de prensa chilena.

Hoy encontré la evidencia que entonces no tenía a mano.

Solo pido algo básico: que no se veten candidaturas por pensar distinto.

El periodismo se honra cuando debate, no cuando excluye.

PD: Comparen los titulares de las imágenes adjuntas, todos sobre la misma noticia, y entenderán por qué el paper se titula así.
