@jstamper97 @ThatJohnKlein @EvilGreenMidget @JamesGunn@Neil_Druckmann If you genuinely get daily death threats, something is wrong. You should be reporting them. You should also be looking at why, as that’s not normal at all. I’ve been online about 25 years and have had 0 death threats.
@ConatyPaul @sean_ocathain @plainjanegerard@TonightVMTV@ciarakellydoc I’m in England rather than Ireland, but my kids (at regular state schools) have had remote PE lessons, work set and marking done every week. On an occasion my daughter missed something, they got in touch to tell us. They’re doing their jobs as well as they can.
@doyouevenblog Here’s an article I’d read/video I’d watch. I’m fine with the tech/equipment/hosting side of it, but what I struggle with is working out how to do a single person audio/video show and keep it flowing. With a guest you have conversation, but alone it’s hard. Thoughts?
@BoySkegness @MatthewdAncona@jamesrbuk It’s smaller local places doing good work and helping develop new creative types from all backgrounds that will suffer. Anyway, no point going round in circles. Have a good one 👍
@BoySkegness @MatthewdAncona@jamesrbuk I’m not disagreeing that sometimes prices are high. I think we paid about £15 for seats for the comedians we tended to see, but for a family of 5 on a tight budget that would soon add up. There are some properly elite venues (which is fine, if not for me) but they’ll be fine.
@BoySkegness @MatthewdAncona@jamesrbuk There are plenty of venues in London (and probably Liverpool/Manchester etc) for that kind of small gig, but not here. It’s not a big posh venue, it’s compact and does lots of stuff for the local kids. It’s sad.
@BoySkegness @MatthewdAncona@jamesrbuk My income is fine now, but I’m nearly 40 with 3 kids. I spent my 20s with next to nothing, as many (most?) people do. I couldn’t be less interested in Shakespeare or any plays I’ve seen advertised, but the crowd at a stand up comedy gig isn’t remotely the same.
@BoySkegness @MatthewdAncona@jamesrbuk My kids school took them there at Christmas as well. It was profitable, now it’s closed. This is bad for everyone.
@BoySkegness @MatthewdAncona@jamesrbuk All the acts I saw there were touring comedians. I’m sure they did some more arty stuff as well for those that enjoy it, but it was a good venue for inexpensive tours that will now have to skip the town or charge more to hire the much bigger Mayflower.
