#TheFlash CW aired its first episode 10 years ago today..... Time is going by faster than Barry 🥲
I owe a lot to this show and the Arrow-verse in all, they were the motivation that kept me going with my career when it wasn't going so well ♥️
Guess who turned up at our event? Our very own brother @wakawaka_doctor
It’s pure energy and positive vibes here with @aproko_doctor@enodamade and yours truly 😁
imma let you finish, but coding on twitch wasn't even a thing before theprimeagen started streaming it. if it wasn't for his determination and perseverance through years of 12 viewers, the Science & Tech category would still be dominated by those stupid chickens

"majority of Techies are not residents or citizens of the US or a European country, and with the high rate of marginalization, a lot of Techies sadly might never achieve their dreams"
Had this comment I think we should address this because I hear this a lot and I feel like it needs to be discussed.
You can have success in tech even if it means not working for a big tech company. There are a ton of ways to do well in this field. It also doesn't matter if someone is from US or Europe. There are MANY Africans and Asians that are successful in this field.
I have NEVER said it was easy.
I have ONLY said that it is possible.
Also there is other benefit to learning a skill and it isn't always just employment. Learning a new skill, like programming for example, you can develop your own tools. Automate your own tasks and day. Help local groups and charities around you. You can create value even if it isn't for a tech company.
Another thing. You can't say that the "majority of techies" and then exclude 2 entire continents. I definitely agree that there are many but definitely not the majority of the industry.
The last thing I want to address, the only path to success in tech isn't just in the west. The problem with a lot of international "techies" is that this is the only place they push for and look at, ESPECIALLY when we are talking about tech jobs and their first tech job.
For the vast vast majority your first job in tech will not be on another continent. There is almost zero incentive for a company to hire a brand new developer with no experience from another continent. The taxes, the laws, the legal loopholes, it doesn't make sense to go through that to hire someone who has no experience at all and that will COST them money to train and the training will take a long time. That incentive increases dramatically when it is a dev with experience and strong technical abilities that will not require a ton of extra attention and hand holding.
Channel your energy and effort into the areas where it can produce the highest level of results so we can actually make some things happen!
Again, I have NEVER said it was easy.
I have ONLY said that it is possible.
Breathe. Focus. Execute.
You absolutely got this!
A career in tech is a career without boundaries.
From web development to product design to project management to DevOps, the range of job roles and opportunities in the tech ecosystem is huge. 😃
