"Revealed: Water industry's attempts to influence Labour MPs amid sewage anger."
Something's not smelling right about this and it's not just the sewage.

Now that man's angry and clearly justifiably so.
WCs have a legal obligation to build, operate and maintain sewage systems capable of "Effectually dealing, by means of sewage disposal works or otherwise, with the contents of those sewers".
Wouldn't that be right @thameswater?
"E coli found in water supply of property in south-east London."
2025 is off to a good start for @thameswater. Residents in Brockley advised to boil their water because of E. coli contamination. Ho hum.

Q: How does a water company get a 4 star rating from the @EnvAgency?
A: Make sure at least half of your sewage dumping monitors aren't working or are offline.
Easy-peasy. Wouldn't that be right @stwater?
@Feargal_Sharkey Shocking what these companies get away with, here on the Yorkshire coast we have had 19 sewage dumps since Jan 1,3 today yet no rain since yesterday afternoon,New Years Day swim had to be cancelled because of it,the largest fundraiser of the year for local lifeboat @YorkshireWater
"Sewage released at 41 beaches in Cornwall after heavy rain."
Yep, you've read that right. Currently 41 beaches in Cornwall are carrying sewage pollution warnings. Now what bit of any of that rain at the weekend would qualify as "EXCEPTIONAL weather", or "EXCEPTIONAL circumstances"? Yep, that'll be none.

"Water companies in England have been fined just £2 by Ofwat since 2021 for breaching regulations".
The whole thing is a total, complete and utter shambles.

With huge sadness I’m resigning as VP of the RSPCA, a role I’ve held with pride for over 15 years. But their Assured Schemes risk misleading the public & legitimising cruelty. I tried with @ChrisGPackham to persuade the leadership to act but sadly failed https://t.co/a3XIqw1HE9
This poor comms line is mostly nonsense. The govt just aren’t getting a fair hearing from any media outlet. They’ve made a number of announcements this week on housing/homelessness/hospices and much else, virtually no coverage.

And this is it.... 12 episodes later the final Feargal on Fridays... 12 weeks ago @NickFerrariLBC challenge me to find a single river that would pass all of our tests...
I've been to Wales, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and beyond. Episode 12 takes me to Cumbria and Cunsey Beck... What happened? 👇
My undying thanks to Nick and all of the team at @LBC for the opportunity, help and support. Absolute rockstars, all of you.
Absolutely disgraceful that Ofwat is allowing Thames Water to raise bills by 33%
Asset stripping
Sewage dumping
Demanding a bailout
Time to WITHDRAW THAMES WATER'S LICENCE and bring it into public ownership
Not make households pay
@Feargal_Sharkey@Ofwat And Liebour (Steve Reed ) are doing what absolutely nothing 😡the pollution will continue the greed will continue and CEOs pay packets will no doubt increase
