Trending Video: Nigerian soldiers laments poor feeding welfare.
“See what they gave us for feeding for 1-month. How can 9 people survive on 1 paint of garri, 1 paint of beans, 1 bag of spoilt potato and 5 fish?”
One of the reasons I decided I wasn't doing anything furthering my education in 🇳🇬 again, is the way our standards have completely collapsed! Imagine this for a masters class, someone you could've removed easily! There's something about us, in this part of the world. 🤦🏾
Just yesterday in my MBA class, our own professor left the virtual class and told us he is done with us for the semester because a lady left her phone unmuted. He could have thrown her out being the host. He could have muted her but he didn’.
He only said “class rep, get me her full name and matric number, I will make sure I make her the scapegoat”. Lori 2 units course.
We are so used to being treated like animals that even grown masters students were defending a lecturer for treating all of us like animals. Something we paid for. Now, we are already anticipating mass failure in Cost Accounting. Nigerian education 🙌🙌
My friend is 59 and never wanted children , yet lately she opens up to me about how much she regrets that decision, wishing she had at least one. And there I am, a father myself, quietly wondering what my life would have looked like if I had chosen differently too.
In the end, I reminded her of what Kierkegaard once said: no matter which path you choose in life, you will always find a reason to regret it. The road not taken has a way of looking more beautiful the longer you stare at it.
@asemota 😂 Except Ferrari comes up with a rocket 🚀, that can outpace that Mercedes... Relying on "fortune" or good luck, won't cut it, especially as Ferrari at times can make you want to tear your hair out with self sabotaging strategies! I so wish too though, a LH world champion
@OjongEOkorn@asemota@UnkleAyo Talking about spending on yourself once in a while, and not just saving & saving! (creating balance) I then wondered, how one achieves that when the "little" spending you do on yourself once in a blue moon, feels like you've mortgaged your whole future on that expense! I'm Tired
@OjongEOkorn@asemota To think I was about to also use this "calculator pressing" to describe how expenses are justified now. Even after "justifying" that expense, you'll still ruminate over & over again, wondering If you're a spend thrift. I remember seeing @UnkleAyo tweet about "balance"...
If you don't make a choice, a choice will be made for you - most likely a choice you don't like.
Find the balance of delayed gratification and enjoying life.
Have you seen where a beneficiary is spending inheritance money?
Take care of yourself. Spend on yourself.
I need you to listen to this very carefully.
Actions have consequences.
Consequences are much harsher for men.
Every single decision you make, down to the first phone call you made in January has the potential to take your life down a different trajectory.
ALWAYS THINK.
Comparison will always steal your joy.
It doesn't matter how behind you think you are, there are people behind you.
It doesn't matter how ahead you think are, there are people in front of you.
You need to balance contentment with ambition.
Calm down. Don't die.
@FeedbackOYSG dear team, is it true that that Oyo State government has declared tomorrow, 16th, a holiday with respect to the Hijrah 1448 AH? Because I'm seeing some articles flying across some social media pages. Do confirm.
Governor Seyi Makinde signed Executive Order No 002 of 2026 on the Regulation and Enforcement of Vehicle Registration and Traffic Management in Oyo State last Friday, 5 June 2026, to enhance public safety and security. Failure to comply with the regulations/orders will result in arrest and prosecution of the offender(s) and impoundment of vehicle(s) by the appropriate security agencies.
Why do women keep setting up their husbands for drags?
The other day, one mumu woman who just got engaged came online to tell us how her husband to be chased her for years while she was busy dating other men, and how he patiently waited until she finally chose him.
Some stories are better left offline. Not everything needs to be posted on the internet.
Growing up, I believed elders were naturally wiser, more honest, and more responsible.
What I’m seeing in Nigeria today has taught me that age and wisdom are not the same thing.
Character, integrity, and competence do not come with grey hair. They come from values.
A reminder for anyone in a season of waiting:
God's delays are not God's absence.
Keep trusting.
Keep praying.
Keep hoping.
Share this with someone who needs encouragement today.
Sycophancy pays more in today’s Nigeria than hard work, competence, or integrity.
That is not the kind of society our children should grow up in.
It is horrible.
A nation cannot progress when loyalty to individuals is rewarded more than merit, excellence, and truth.
This generation must put a stop to it.
