A single is better than a walk but not by that much. That's why OBP is a much better stat to use than batting average. Schwarber is better because the OBPs are close and he has significantly more power

He gets on base a lot because he walks a lot. Arraez gets a lot more hits than him and is also more likely to get an RBI with 1 out since he rarely strikes out.

@HalfSick @TalkinBaseball_ Arraez is not an obvious leadoff hitter. That is just completely minimizing his skillset. An obvious leadoff hitter would be someone with a high OBP with a high walk rate who is also very fast.

Schwarber has to be on a powerhouse team where he’s protected in order to wreak havoc. Ichiro on the other hand is a havoc creator. He can manufacture a run a dozen diff ways.
