late self diagnosed neurospicy speaking to someone who would have been forcibly lobotomized and sterilized in the 40s: stop using your disability as an excuse not to try
@OddishHime that's simply because they had to look hard to find symptoms they could relate to, lol. You all confound genuine education with weaponized knowledge.
@OddishHime people who self diagnose become super obsessed about that said thing and think that relating to some aspects mean they have it. also if you look hard enough, you can make yourself believe you have something
My son came home yesterday after finishing his first year of college.
The moment he stepped through the front door...
He smiled and called out,
"Poppy... I'm home."
Poppy is 19 years old now.
Mostly blind.
Her hips ache with every step.
For more than a year...
She hasn't climbed the stairs.
She simply couldn't.
We moved her bed.
Her food.
Her water.
Everything she needed...
To the ground floor.
That's where she spent her days.
So when she heard my son's voice...
We expected her to wait downstairs.
Like she always did.
Instead...
She slowly walked toward the staircase.
Then...
She placed one paw on the first step.
One step.
Then another.
Then another.
There were 14 stairs.
Each one looked harder than the last.
She stopped twice.
Her back legs trembled.
She stood there catching her breath.
We thought she was done.
But every time...
She found the strength to keep going.
It took her almost four minutes.
My wife noticed first.
She quietly called me over.
Neither of us spoke.
We simply watched.
A cat who hadn't climbed those stairs in over a year...
Refusing to give up.
Finally...
She reached the top.
She walked slowly to my son's bedroom door.
Just as he stepped into the hallway.
He froze.
Looked at Poppy.
Then looked at us.
"Poppy?"
"She can't do stairs."
My wife smiled through tears.
"She just did." ❤️
My son sat down on the hallway floor.
Without hesitation...
Poppy climbed into his lap.
She rested her head against his chest.
Closed her eyes.
And began to purr.
He wrapped his arms around her...
Without saying a single word.
That moment said everything.
Today...
Poppy is back downstairs.
She hasn't climbed those stairs again.
Not once.
It was the only time.
She used every bit of strength she had...
Because her boy was finally home.
And waiting wasn't enough.
People often wonder if animals remember.
If they miss us.
If they love us the way we love them.
Then a 19-year-old cat...
With failing eyesight...
And aching hips...
Climbed 14 painful stairs...
Just to say,
"Welcome home." ❤️🐾
Sometimes...
The purest love...
Needs no words at all.
my friend came out as trans to his family and his brother was like “you’re injecting DRUGS into your BODY” and their dad cut him off immediately and said “i don’t wanna hear that shit. you smoke meth off the street. what he gets is PRESCRIBED by a DOCTOR!”
