It’s official: Madonna is back on top. CONFESSIONS II debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated July 18, giving the Queen of Pop her tenth chart-topping album and making her the first artist ever to score a No. 1 album in this decade after also reigning in three previous ones. She now joins an elite club of just four acts with at least ten No. 1s on both the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100, where she counts twelve leaders. With 24 top 10 albums to her name, only the likes of The Rolling Stones, Streisand, The Beatles, Sinatra and Elvis stand above her.

The numbers behind the debut are just as stunning. CONFESSIONS II opens with 134,000 equivalent album units in the US, the biggest week for any dance album this year and Madonna’s best frame since the chart moved to units in December 2014. It’s also her biggest streaming week ever for an album, her largest pure sales week in over a decade, and, with 59,000 vinyl copies sold, her biggest vinyl week of the modern era. Four decades in, and she’s still setting records.
