@palacecapper@Cryptoboyy_Aji After 30 years on a $500k loan:
5% savings: $86,500
10% savings: $349,000
Pay down early: $13,600
“Everyone is stupid”…but you don’t know about arbitrage.
If your borrowing rate is 3% and you can earn 3.1% OR MORE over the same horizon, smart money picks the larger number.
@palacecapper@brendanjj26@Cryptoboyy_Aji You just answered your own question. 5% interest earns you $86,000 over 30 years.
If you used that $20k to pay down your mortgage, after 30 years you’d have saved only $13,600 in interest.
$86,000 > $13,600
Savings of roughly $73,000
@palacecapper@Cryptoboyy_Aji Yikes Mario! I’m going to map this out for you.
5% Interest > 3% mortgage…
1) Pay down early: $13,600 in interest saved over 30 years
2) Savings acct (5%): 66,500 in interest (growing $20k → ~$86,500)
3) Savings acct (10%): $329,000 in interest (growing $20k → ~$349,000)
@jjohn2514@24_Snowflakes@HQNewsNow Dude…Mr. “FAA also doesn’t conduct inspections even though they do” — for the 2nd time…Google is free.
CDC conducts twice early, unannounced inspections. Re-inspection required for shops that fail.
This is the most bizarre attempt at arguing a point.
@jjohn2514@StringHelll@HQNewsNow Yes they do.
You picked arguably the most inspection-heavy agency and said they don’t do inspections hah.
Let me guess… you also think USDA doesn’t conduct food inspections?
@jjohn2514@HQNewsNow From a public health perspective they’re almost exactly the same.
Both environments are high-consequence for disease spread bc they involve, scale mixing, speed and amplification. That’s why we have USDA and CDC. You’re arguing for one but not the other and it’s strange.
@dustincrowther@BillMelugin_ Except they don’t. Their contracts literally prohibit it.
College sports, pro sports, doesn’t matter. You can’t bet, you can’t play fantasy, you can’t even place a $20 bet on a blackjack game if you’re on the road.
@ClHoggatt@BillMelugin_@Ninya615 “Our politicians do the exact same thing”
So what he did was bad then… if you’re comparing this guy to how politicians act uhhh then he’s the problem too.
You get that right?
@10degBTDC@jesseljs@TheMaineWonk Bc it’s a bargaining chip they’ve used for decades. They use it to get us to give them money, remove sanctions, etc.
This is how Iran has operated for decades.
