For so long, I was their Superman. Strong, untouchable, giving everything without a second thought. Lost in the weight of saving everyone else, I forgot how to save myself. And now, for the first time in forever, I feel scared. Because maybe… I’m not invincible after all.
When someone recovering from trauma says “I’m tired” it means:
My story has been denied. I can’t keep defending myself & try to heal.
It means: I’m going as fast as I can & my mind & body aren’t working together the way I’d like.
Survivor, please rest without apology.
How dare you ask someone “Aren’t you over that by now?“ when it was trauma that changed their whole life. These aren’t circumstances to get over. They’re uninvited changes to work through. There is no getting over it. There’s only healing from it and that takes sacrifice and time
I’m scared of the choices I’ve made, but there’s no going back. I have to be strong, even if the future feels like a dark, winding road. I’ll face whatever comes, because strength is all I have now.
