Awesome review. @samsamcr - When did you start to see a shift in #ML to Deep Learning approaches? Was this related to the exponential growth in trials (2018-ish)?
#telehealth in cancer care has come a long way in the past couple years- and we are going to keep on pushing the science forward. I am so excited to get started working with these 4 amazing research centers. @MSKCancerCenter@nyugrossman@NorthwesternU@Penn
NEW! NCI’s Telehealth Research Centers of Excellence (TRACE), supported by the #CancerMoonshot, will focus on developing evidence to optimize quality & effectiveness of telehealth-delivered #cancercare: https://t.co/ntoIUXQZ2s #NCITRACE#telehealth
Tiny measurement lesson: 🧵1/4
Avoid neutrally worded items
Goal: measuring pickle fanaticism, those with higher scores have higher levels of fanaticism for pickles 🥒
Take this item: I don’t mind pickles, 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree)
Harmless, right?
"how do we increase our data beyond the health encounter to incorporate the patient's voice so we can better understand the goals of patients " @boussard A great question to wrap up our #AIethics panel. #NLP up next! Join Us

@KDRichardson924 thank you so for joining us today to provide a patient perspective counterpoint on day two of our workshop. We have an exciting day full of #AIEthics , #NLP and #CDS in #cancer care research-- you will keep our panelists on their toes 😃
@NCICareDelivRes Don't worry -- It's not too late! Lots of great Day 1 content and conversation until 4:30pm (eastern). Come hear about PROs, patient generated health data, and machine learning in cancer care delivery.

Featuring: @DrCGibbons@IChanHuang1 Dr. Dana Rollison and @jponnela. Join here (it's free!) https://t.co/Vb8hRy5brB
Such a fast moving area of #telehealth research and cancer care delivery. Come join us today and learn more.
Have questions for the panel? Let me know 😀
A lot of excellent food for thought in this thread. I'm curious how health care delivery research can support AI in healthcare and the barriers that currently exist.
AI in healthcare doesn’t really exist right now.
It should. It has the potential to meaningfully improve patient outcomes and provider shortages.
A 🧵on why AI companies don’t make it from my vantage point as a digital health investor. 1/

so far, #NCISocialRisks workshop has been an in-depth look at complex issues that impact the #healthoutcomes of cancer patients and survivors. Join us today (1:35 ET) to discuss challenges & potential solutions around food insecurity, housing, and transportation barriers.
I'm excited to release this #SEERMHOS webtool! We dug deep to give you research inspiration:
➡️New cancer site definitions matching Seer*Explorer
➡️Demographics (age, sex, race/ethnicity)
➡️Common comorbid conditions
There are so many projects just waiting to be discovered!
A great #SEERMHOS study by Drs. Mullen, Thaker and colleagues using a patient-reported deficit-accumulation frailty index (DAFI). Frailty is a significant predictor of lower OS in local/regional stage at dx, but not metastatic in this older (65+ yrs) pop. @SitemanCenter@WUSTLmed
Could this be you? -->📢 Centers will generate and disseminate a robust evidence base for patient-centered, sustainable #telehealth models of #cancer care delivery
