“jax having a sad backstory doesn’t excuse him being a bad person” is a common saying i see on tiktok (and response to jax being trans)
1. no one ever has said it’s an excuse
2. giving a character a backstory that gives context to their behavior is called “writing”
The impression I get from The Amazing Digital Circus is the creator was working out something pretty personal through her art and she probably didn't expect over a million teens to make the aesthetic and lore their entire personality.
Tadc tiktok when their childhood friend comes out as trans: idk it just doesn’t really suit you. This is so out of nowhere. I think i like using he/him on you better since i’m used to that. I just don’t see how you could be trans, there were no clues!
It's actually fantastic representation of a trans woman dealing with internalized transphobia and misogyny that leads her to committing. Not all representation is sunshine and rainbows. Jax is painfully good rep it's just not pretty rep, which is what you want.
“So you’re telling me kris is surrounded by love all around, and they are still trying to cause the roaring!? Bro this is horrible nonbinary representation 😡😡😡”
THE TWO PEOPLE SHE VIEWED AS EVER LOVING HER WAS HER MOM WHO SHE THOUGHT SHE MIGHT HAVE HURT OR KILLED AND RIBBIT WHO ABSTRACTED BECAUSE OF HER SHE THINKS ANYONE THAT GETS CLOSE TO HER IS AUTOMATICALLY AT RISK AND IN DANGER SO SHE ENSURES SHES AS UNLOVEABLE AS POSSIBLE
