If any football federation votes to re-elect Gianni Infantino in the 2027 FIFA Presidential election, they will be endorsing what we’ve witnessed at this World Cup.

The decision to invoke Article 27 after President Trump publicly acknowledged contacting Infantino has raised serious questions about FIFA’s independence and the integrity of its disciplinary process. Football deserves governance free from political influence.

Even if it means we never hold a FIFA competition again, we must stand up to this

The game must always come first.
