Pope Benedict XVI on Electing a Pope: “I would not say… that the Holy Spirit picks out the Pope, because there are too many contrary instances of popes the Holy Spirit would obviously not have picked. I would say that the Spirit does not exactly take control of the affair, but rather like a good educator, as it were, leaves us much space, much freedom, without entirely abandoning us. Thus the Spirit’s role should be understood in a much more elastic sense, not that he dictates the candidate for whom one must vote. Probably the only assurance he offers is that the thing cannot be totally ruined.”
@IntlCrimCourt ICC we don’t need you to encroach our sovereign rights in our country. You are a foreign court with no jurisdiction in our land. We do have our own supreme court and competent magistrates. What you’re doing is illegal hence logically invalid!
“I want to honor the sex worker community”
Shameful.
“Sex work” isn’t “work.”
It’s destructive and evil.
It preys on vulnerable young girls and boys.
It is not empowering or liberating.
It fuels trafficking and abuse.
Congo: More than 70 Christians were found decapitated inside a Protestant church in Maiba, North Kivu.
The victims had fled to the CEBCEA Church in Kasanga, seeking sanctuary from a wave of attacks carried out by ADF militants aligned with ISIS.
Instead of finding safety, the victims were taken hostage by the Islamists before being killed.
The 70 bodies - which included men, women and even children - were found tied up.
The ADF has long terrorized eastern Congo and targeted Christian communities.
The militant group, founded in Uganda, pledged allegiance to ISIS in 2019.
The Christians living in these areas of the Congo require immediate assistance, security and prayers.
Being invited to the wedding of a family member or friend is often a cause for joy, but for many Catholics, being invited to a same-sex wedding can precipitate a deep internal conflict. https://t.co/Hbq4mpqwDO
