In the latest issue of @TheGrindTO! 📰
Canada's biggest grocer @LoblawsON@loblawco has broken its promise to go cage-free by 2025. This is unacceptable—locking up hens in cages is one of the cruellest practices in industrial farming 🐔💔 #CageFreeLoblaws
Can we count on the @BC_SPCA or the Ag Minister @Pam_Alexis_ to do anything when animal agriculture breaks animal cruelty laws? Excelsior Hog Farm? Cedar Valley dairy? Meadow Valley Meats?
This shady slaughterhouse should have its license removed. Meadow Valley Meats slaughterhouse in Pitt Meadows is under investigation after footage unveiled egregious animal cruelty. 🧵
Farmed animals enter slaughterhouses alive, and leave chopped into pieces—we need to stop pretending that something “humane” happens in between.
@Pam_Alexis_ please implement CCTV cameras inside all farms & slaughterhouses in BC, to ensure adequate transparency & accountability.
@SalmonFarmHarm@animalag After @theexcelsior4 trial and @SmithfieldTrial , I find it hard to tell when the industry is straight-up lying, and when they actually believe that they are doing anything "carefully" when it comes to the animals that they breed and send to slaughter...
@Sarah_Alice_X@PaulTassi@jessiegender Let's put it all together: "JK Rowling Mocks Trans YouTuber or Writer (or Dork) For 'Hogwarts Legacy' Comments"
Yes? No?
@GBNEWS If you are truly "encouraging schools to educate children about where food comes from," there's no way students can feel comfortable and dairy and meat. Images of artificial insemination alone are off-putting enough.
@globeandmail It's ridiculous how Canadian courts are taking down activist whistleblowers, and protecting animal abusers. Well, unless we're talking about dogs. Activists can expose sled dog cruelty and the courts will act appropriately. Strange how that works...
@dumpstxrfire ❤️😂. We thought you were trolling vegans. So sorry. We satirize farm and anti-vegan content by reshaping it word for word to show hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance. We can take it down if you’d like.
@OverleafBooks They are running on a platform of denying acceptance of LGBTQ+ people, so it's a relatively straightforward path to call that platform "bigoted." Saying the same of animal rights requires quite a bit more of a journey, to say the least.
@MiddleClaas_cdn @CBCNews Every classroom has always had information related to sex and gender. You don't notice because it's just basic information about life, and the people you may meet along the way. There's nothing "explicit" or "sexualized" about it.
@MiddleClaas_cdn @CBCNews It has been normal for young children to be taught some general information about what it means to be boys, girls etc., about relationships, marriage etc.
Practically (and maybe literally) no one suggested that this was "sexualized" material.
@MiddleClaas_cdn @CBCNews It's not much different from learning about different skin colours and cultures. Why do you think basic information about the mere existence of different sexes and/or genders is explicit or "sexualization"?
@MiddleClaas_cdn @CBCNews You want details on how much better things are than 2000 years ago? For the record, sex ed is supposed to start around age 10. Everyone is exposed to messaging about sex and gender before they can even talk (e.g. teasing toddlers about their "crushes" etc.) This is not new.
