HICKORY, NORTH CAROLINA — Master Rick Donkel Sr. of Hickory, North Carolina, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious 2026 G.O.A.T. Honors (Greatest of All Time) Martial Arts Award, recognizing his outstanding lifetime of leadership, instruction, and service to the martial arts community.

The G.O.A.T. Master Donkel is a respected martial arts instructor, retired U.S. Army Military Police veteran, and retired law enforcement officer who has dedicated decades to helping students of all ages develop confidence, discipline, respect, and practical self-defense skills. As a 6th Degree Black Belt in American Ching Sai Do and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Saeng Jeon Do, he has built a reputation for providing quality martial arts instruction while emphasizing character development, personal responsibility, and family values.

His dedication extends beyond North Carolina through international self-defense instruction in Venezuela and Spain. Alongside his wife, Sensei Elisa Donkel, he has taught practical self-defense seminars, including women’s self-defense programs designed to build confidence, awareness, and personal safety. His commitment to creating a positive learning environment has earned him the respect of students, parents, and fellow martial artists both locally and internationally.
