In 2017, I interviewed with Elizabeth Holmes to be Head of Finance at Theranos.
I'm convinced I learned more in those 45 minutes than I did in 10 years of school and work.
Today, she reports to federal prison to serve out an 11 year sentence for fraud.
Time for a story 🧵:
Someone has to say it: Elon Musk has lied for 27 years about his credentials. He does not have a BS in Physics, or any technical field. Did not get into a PhD program. Dropped out in 1995 & was illegal. Later, investors quietly arranged a diploma - but not in science. 🧵1/
@RottenInDenmark As a local, I had a bad feeling about the article as soon as I saw the writer describe Burlington as “bike friendly” (it’s not). The rest went downhill from there.
@troublesometots @VTAutists@GovPhilScott It’s too bad that Vermont never ousts an incumbent governor. I don’t think an incumbent gov has lost a re-election bid for as long as I have been alive. When was the last time, I wonder?
@syzygay1@StephDoesMath It is largely accepted that sqrt(a)*sqrt(b)=sqrt(a*b) only holds when a and b are both positive, so I don’t see the problem with defining i in this way.
@syzygay1@StephDoesMath If the definition is i^2=-1, then i is not a well-defined constant, right? There would be no difference between i and -i. I have no problem with i =sqrt(-1), the principal root is i, and the other root is -i.
@ProfKinyon I think the difference between f and g is only important if you are discussing surjectivity. One can argue that g is surjective, but f is not.
