Pleased to share our new paper on #workplace#suicide exposure. Key findings: impact extends far beyond #bereavement and systemic shortcomings and gaps in mental health care systems contribute to further distress among workers @MyfMaple@sarahlwayland
A few years ago I teamed up w/ @SuicidePrevAU on a survey to better understand the impact of exposure to suicide finding this is a highly impactful experience and the impact reaches well beyond kin: https://t.co/S4Ehmt4lmz ping @rsanfordSW
Such an important contribution to our expanding understanding of what it means to be impacted by suicide loss. Thank you, @HilaryCauser, for shining a light on the experiences of those who are often not included in the research. @MyfMaple@IJERPH_MDPI
@more_coral @sarahevictor @CASP_CA I absolutely agree! We definitely hope to include questions on attempt and ideation in the 12-month follow-up as it certainly provides a more robust picture of the depth and breadth of exposure to suicide (both self and others). Thanks so much for taking time to share.
So pleased to be working with @CASP_CA on this important study!
If you have been impacted by suicide, please consider sharing your experiences to help inform our advocacy work.
