West Side of Rocky Mountain National Park: August 2021
This was the largest and most beautiful moose we saw during our Colorado trip. He was quite a distance from the road. #RMNP#moose#Colorado#wildlife#rockymountainnationalpark
Smoke from west coast wildfires really impacted our Colorado trip this summer. Was hard to breathe at times, but made some interesting photographs. #rmnp#wildfires#AirQuality#Colorado
@caitrionambalfe@nytimes I have relied on the ideals underpinning this quote by Erin McKean often when I needed to help my daughter navigate societal pressures on women to focus too much on their looks. It has helped a great deal.
@MyPeakChallenge@SamHeughan Comparing yourself to others is not a productive activity. Live YOUR life Sister! 💯...and don't eat raw cookie dough, ever.🤮

According to the posted signage, the spring is Missouri's 12th largest and puts out 50+ million gallons a day! Beautiful state park!

There were so many #tadpoles in these pools at Elephant Rocks State Park. Can't imagine the water would stick around long enough for them to mature. Might have to go back to check it out. @mostateparks@VisitMO#ThatsMyMO
@SciJeanne I guess the math of it is that as it flows down, it seeks to maximize its gradient (effectively its slope) along its path which causes the water to accumulate in locations with steep areas thereby widening the channels in those locations. Pretty to look at either way.
@SciJeanne The physics of it is that the gravitational force causes water to accelerate (Newton's 2nd Law F=ma) to a place of lower potential energy (downhill).
