Enriching forests for a sustainable future! 🌳🌲
Our new study led by @laritopanotti@NathalyR_GR & @Carola__Paul published @ScienceAdvances shows a win-win-win situation by enriching beech forests with Douglas-fir 💰🐛💧

Hey everyone, I'm a wildlife ecologist studying free-roaming domestic cats and how urban environments influence their behavior and ecological impacts on native wildlife. Here to answer all your wildlife-related questions! As always, stay curious! #BlackMammalogistsRoleCall
I was excited to present my preliminary findings on thermal sensitivity during the poster session at @GfoeSoc 's #GfOE2024 in Freising! I had a great time learning about other research as well.
Oak isolation decreased the abundance of dormice and increased mice's; favoring the dominance of seed-caching rodents (mice) compared to seed predators (dormice). This may enhance acorn dispersal for isolated oaks

For my new followers: in addition to plant biology, I also create & maintain data visualization contents on GitHub, such as "Friends don't let friends make bad graphs" (https://t.co/KeSsEcrvOk) and "online R learning" (https://t.co/875sYAxopH). Check out my repo if interested.
Congrats to our very own Alice Penanhoat on successfully defending her PhD! 🥳 We enjoyed a very nice talk on individual tree architecture, stand structure and their effects on ecosystem functioning in mixed forests. Enjoy the well-deserved celebration @AlicePenanhoat ! 🌲🌳🛰️
Please RT‼️I'm recruiting a PhD student for a fully funded 4 year position to study how ongoing biodiversity change alters disease risk in plant communities in the Åland archipelago meadow ecosystem. DL 28 Aug

I'm happy to see this paper out in @JEcology !
Drought effects in Mediterranean forests are not alleviated by diversity-driven water source partitioning. Great work with @GrossiordCha @avilagrosa@LlunaMorcillo@FernandoVallada!

Check out how the effects of forest composition, admixtures and presence of the non-native tree Douglas-fir alter the relationship between rodents and seeds! 🐭🌰

Nice to see that this @JXBot paper on thermal acclimation of photosynthesis of tropical tree species reached 100 citations.
I know citations don't mean much, but I like this study, it was a key part of my postdoc, and 100 is a nice number :)
