Privileged to cite some nice statements from Qur’an at the “How to Continue Talking” panel of the @Woolf_Institute at the House of Lords with friends @ImamMonawar and @RabCharley and others, hosted by @LordWajidKhan
Thanks to @JW3London and @JewishNewsUK for hosting me and my colleague Abdulla Galadari on our subject: what the Qur’an says about Jews, Judaism and the Torah
An honour to speak at World Arabic Language Day, explaining how the beautiful language of the Qur’an is deeply connected to the beautiful language of the Hebrew Bible @MWLOrg_en
The Qur’an’s connection with the Bible can help fight both anti-semitism and what I am calling “Qur’anophobia”; as I explained in this interview at the @ISGAP conference to @DavidHarrisNY on @JBSTVORG - starts at 26:38. https://t.co/FmZ868q303
Many thanks to all who came to my presentation together with Prof. Abdulla Galadari on What the Qur’an really says…and thanks to co-hosts @Woolf_Institute and @ismaili_studies at the wonderful Aga Khan Centre London. Full presentation here: https://t.co/28mgvPg7Qc
Congratulations to all the signatories.
Many of the comments here do not seem to have absorbed Imam Qari’s good description of the Accords: “The #DrumlanrigAccord is rooted in ethical principles and provides a framework for dialogue, mutual respect and working together for the common good in the UK”
It was interesting to observe that in all the discussions that took place at Drumlanrig House to reach these momentous accords, that no religious or theological objection was raised to reconciliation, understanding and solidarity between Muslims and Jews.
