Enjoyed meeting with my friend and colleague @RSS_jr and his team at @RandolphCC today about Apprenticeship Randolph. We look forward to bringing information back to @cccti to better meet the needs of business and industry in our service area.
We are all so proud of the tens of thousands of students graduating this spring. Honored to join @RandolphCC with @RSS_jr and so many excited families celebrating their achievements. (Hat tip to Sydney Bartholow for the pic.) — PH
With my friend Garrett Hinshaw, President of Catawba Valley Community College, at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, SC, to lead a leadership conference. We were close friends before either of us became community college presidents!
“Pathways to Prosperity” presentation at the NCCCS System Conference: Dr. Stephen Gainey (Superintendent, Randolph Co Schools), Dr. Terry Worrell (Superintendent, Asheboro City Schools), Dr. Julie Pack (ACS), Ms. Nancy Cross (RCS), Ms. Suzanne Rohrbaugh (RCC), and me.
Presidential Scholar Jasmin Faz, a remarkable young lady with an incredible work ethic. She is taking physics, statistics, biology, and communications. She plans to transfer to UNCC and then attend grad school to become a Physical Therapist. I believe in this SUPER young lady!
The RCC Foundation Board of Directors had its annual retreat today. They do an incredible job supporting the students and the college. Every Foundation Board member, every Trustee, and almost without exception, every faculty and staff member, gives to our Foundation every year!
Nearly everyone had a teacher who made a huge impact in his/her life. Dr. Rebecca Smith coached me through my masters and doctoral degrees at UNCG with such wisdom and compassion that her confidence in me taught me to believe I could do it. She believed in me before I did!🌺
Enjoyed a fabulous dinner tonight with the college presidents and university chancellors in the Piedmont Triad at the beautiful home of Dr. and Mrs. Nido Qubein, President of High Point University. Together, we can prepare young people for the workforce in our area.
“I don’t think there is a newspaper or a magazine in the state that has not used our students as freelancers or staff,” says Jay Capers, lead instructor for photojournalism at @RandolphCC. @agranadoster @Awake58NC @NCCommColleges#Awake58#EdNC https://t.co/5rM0ehB6BO
