New work from our group! We analyzed recent technoeconomic studies to explore the limitations and prospects of ion-exchange membrane technologies. This perspective provides guidance on pathways to improve performance and economic viability. @UMichChE https://t.co/z1qMvY7x5K
I am at AIChE this week and will be giving two talks on my research focused on ion and water transport in polymers for water and energy separations. If you're interested, feel free to stop by or reach out to chat sometime this week!
Congratulations to Satish Kumar, Bowen Zhang, and Max Gordon, the student creators of EyeClimate! Their business won first place at @ucsantabarbara's New Venture Competition Finals by creating effective solutions to fighting climate change. https://t.co/KdYb45Imcy

This work was inspired by classic membrane studies reported by Rosenbaum/Cotton and Paul/Ebra-Lima in the 1960s-1970s. We refer those with additional interest to a selection of the significant body of work from Don Paul’s group on this topic:
Congratulations to Prof. Smith on his promotion to Associate Professor with Tenure! This promotion takes effect on July 1 and is a reflection of the outstanding work from the many current and former group members who have contributed over the years.
Satish Kumar is the first @ucsantabarbara COE graduate student to receive a prestigious Schmidt Science Fellow. The @ucsbece PhD student will study if plants can serve as bioindicators to detect and mitigate global pollution https://t.co/J0iDNqNf1T
Congratulations to the award winners! They will be honored at the PMSE/POLY Plenary Lecture & Awards Reception, 6:00 - 8:30 pm, TODAY, March 20, New Orleans Marriott, Grand Ballroom. Free drinks and foods. #ACSSpring2024#PMSE100#polymer@acspmse@POLY_ACS@AmerChemSociety
Congratulations to one of our most recent graduates, Dr. Kayla Storme @KaylaStorme , for receiving the 2024 PMSE Future Leader Award at the ACS Meeting in New Orleans!
Excited to be presenting M-WET research for #PMSE100 at Spring ACS this week! I’ll be discussing the mechanism of hydraulic liquid transport in charged membranes used in water and energy separations.
In Neel’s final PhD paper, he used QENS to measure the solvation lifetime of a lithium ion in a polymer electrolyte. Chao Fang reproduced these results using MD to provide a direct measurement of solvation dynamics in an electrolyte! #QENS#ORNL#LBL
