reloc double feature (2/2): just a few days later, on 28/02, we hosted Gabor Juhasz's @JuhaszLab talk on "Specialized Protein Recruitment Mechanisms
Promote Autophagosome and Phagosome Maturation" as part of the reloc Seminar series #biochem
reloc double feature (1/2): We were happy to welcome Nils Johnsson from @uni_ulm for a talk on "Tip Growth in Yeast: The Many Faces of the Polarisome" on 22/02 to the RTG #biochemistry#genetics
What a nice way to conclude the year! We had a joint event together with @rtg_reloc dedicated to #ScienceCommunication. Four PhDs presented their research topic in a very descriptive way, using only everyday items. The event was complemented with pizza and a pub quiz.

2023 wrap-up post 2/2: Christmas networking event with the University of Cologne RTG 2591 TiDE. Featuring interdisciplinary talks with a creative twist as well as subsequent quiz rounds with Chstimas-themed prizebags up for grabs🎄
2023 wrap-up post 1/2: October 2023 Networking retreat with the RTG 2737 STRESSistance from the TU Kaiserslautern-Landau at the Ebernburg in Bad-Münster am Stein. Featured were scientific speed dating, poster session, and exciting lectures by members of both RTGs!
📣These were an amazing two days with exciting science and great discussions! We are very proud of our PhD students for putting together such a brilliant event! A big thank you to all the speakers for sharing their science with us and coming to Cologne!👏

Just published a nice story together with the @Herrmann_lab in @JCellBiol . Orf9b modulates mitochondrial protein biogenesis upon binding to TOM70. https://t.co/ThRq1mWiXx the graphical abstract this time comes from @sarah_gerlich
The meeting just started and it is fantastic - the international symposium of the @rtg_reloc looking forward to two days of science on proteins, their movements, cellular distribution and clustering and the maintenance of compartmentalism integrity!
Hans-Guenther Schmalz gave on Friday his final lecture - looking back at the molecules and people that mattered during the last ca 40 years of his career… We are happy to still have you another 3 years in @rtg_reloc !
🎁Please join in to thank Peter Comba @UniHeidelberg turning 70 today and Hans-Guenther Schmalz presenting his “Abschiedsvorlesung” @UniCologne. Both have shaped countless chemical lives at their faculties in inspiring and creative ways since the 90ties.
