Most previews are a parallel universe — different manifests, dummy secrets, a prayer. The version worth building: a clone of staging on the same rails.

Encrypted secrets in Git feel responsible. Wrong default: Git never forgets, and nobody rotates what's annoying to rotate.

Better: references in Git, values in an external store, ESO merging them in-cluster — precedence is just the order of a YAML list.
