@zetalyrae Deliberately attempting to widen your visual field is a great way to access this. Really focus on the peripheries. Do this whilst traveling by train/bus/tram and you really engage the experience of transition through space. This carries over to walking/running places.

Whether it is synthetic or not is by and large irrelevant. The user imbues the received output with their own Other regardless of the source. How you experience empathy from my actions as a counselor/speaking with a language model is derived from your constructed Other.

Im not totally sure that a a human is necessary and that the experience of empathy is (?almost) entirely on the side of the individual who is experiencing it. I feel the claim that the Human je ne sais quoi is a necessary component is a retaliatory stance/anxiety response.

I've had a few "affirmation" sessions where everyone in a group writes a nice/appreciative things about other members (usually volunteer work groups, classrooms, friends). I have dozens of stashed in an envelope that I still return to.
