@clay_garrett @Adelgary @SOUTHSIDE263 @Bitkey Thanks, that clarifies it. I wanted to test lost-phone + lost-hardware recovery with a Recovery Contact and second W3, then gift the original W3. I assumed that was supported since Hardware Wipe is described for “recovery testing and transfer of ownership.” in the release notes.

@max_guise @max_guise: Unrelated question: I see the code supports wiping an inactive W3 after W3→W3 recovery, but that path is gated by mobile-wipe-old-w1-enabled. Is that flag currently enabled in production (default is false), so later-found old W3 can still be factory-reset and reused?

Vault mode could raise that ceiling dramatically, turning Bitkey from an everyday wallet into a place people trust with their long-term savings.

@clay_garrett @MomsInBitcoin1 @Bitkey Yes, this is my top request. Vault mode is what’s holding me back from getting a Bitkey and storing a significant amount. My main concern isn’t wrench attacks, but that 2 of 3 keys are online. Delay-and-notify could make Bitkey better than Casa, and win many users.

@bitkey @max_guise Would love a hardware-backed Bitkey vault: vaulted funds shouldn’t be instantly spendable by any 2-key path, including phone+server, HW+phone. Require Delay & Notify/timelock + cancel path. I’m uneasy with two “hotter” keys in a 2 of 3 setup. Would give me peace of mind :).
