Dear Irish Protesters 🇮🇪

You may remember the Canadian Freedom Convoy of 2022: ordinary citizens, truckers, and families who simply said “enough” to mandates and overreach. What started as a peaceful, joyful stand for bodily autonomy and basic liberties was met with a response most of us never imagined in a Western democracy: the Emergencies Act invoked, bank accounts frozen without due process, vehicles seized, leaders arrested, and a relentless media campaign branding peaceful people as “extremists.” The goal was clear, break the movement’s will, isolate its supporters, and deter anyone else from trying.

You do not have to suffer the same fate.

Stay relentlessly peaceful. No property damage, no masks hiding faces, no escalation. The moment violence or chaos appears, the state gets the pretext it craves. Film everything yourselves live streams, body cams, multiple angles and share directly with the public. Independent footage is your best shield against edited narratives.

Decentralize. The Convoy’s visible leaders became easy targets; spread responsibility so no single arrest can decapitate the effort. Prepare financially: keep some funds in cash or accounts the banks cannot be pressured to freeze overnight. Have trusted friends or family ready to step in if accounts are targeted.

Know your rights cold and line up legal observers and lawyers before they’re needed. Build broad, visible community support — talk to your neighbours, not just the already convinced. The quieter, everyday Irish citizens are your greatest strength; once they see the human faces behind the protest, the smears lose power.

You are not alone. What happened in Canada exposed how fragile the illusion of “democracy” can be when power feels threatened. But it also showed the world that ordinary people, acting with courage and discipline, can force the conversation.

Stand firm, stay smart, stay peaceful. Ireland’s stand matters far beyond your borders.
