One thing many APC politicians seem unable to grasp is the organic support Peter Obi enjoys from a large number of Nigerians. They have spent so long operating in a political culture where loyalty is often mobilized through patronage and financial inducement that genuine, voluntary public support appears incomprehensible to them.

Perhaps that's why even Daniel Bwala, who once projected himself as an independent-minded commentator, now struggles to understand it and keeps cooking up imagined issues among the obidients.

Those accustomed to transactional politics often find it difficult to believe that millions of people can support a politician simply because they believe in his message rather than because they were paid to do so. They will always foresee chaos where there is none because money is their only unifier.
