i'm in love with this quote:
"if you're persistent, you'll get it. if you're consistent, you'll keep it. and if you're grateful, you'll attract more of it."
A peak life advice by Elon Musk:
โStop being patient and start asking yourself: How can I accomplish my 10 year plan in 6 months? You will probably fail, but you'll be far ahead of the person who simply accepted it would take 10 years.โ
Your potential means nothing if you keep protecting yourself from looking foolish. You can have the ideas. The talent. The discipline. The vision. And still waste years. Because youโre too afraid to be seen trying. People talk. People judge. Let them. Be willing to look foolish. Awkward. To start badly. To be misunderstood. You can either protect your ego or build the life you want. You donโt get to do both.
You see, guys, one of the "criticisms" I tend to get is that I'm too soft on people. It's not that people don't deserve critique. My time in church has taught me how fragile human beings can be, so I'm very careful about the words that come out of my mouth.
Underrated life advice: Make peace with being unimpressive to the outside world. Drive the normal car. Wear the simple clothes. Live below your means. Stay in the committed relationship. The ability to look ordinary while building an extraordinary life is wildly underrated.
Underrated life advice: Just be easy to work with. Show up on time. Do what you said you'd do. Bring solutions, not problems. Never create drama. Be responsive. Be emotionally consistent. Be kind. People will always want to support someone who just makes their life easier.
"When people talk about the need for Black Excellence I counter with an insistence on Black mediocrity: the right for black people to be as average, flawed, compromised & mistaken as any other group of people. The right, ultimately, to be human." R.I.P. Jason Arday
